Detectives Investigate Fatal Stabbing of Elderly Man in His East Whittier Home

EAST WHITTIER, CA, Aug. 29 (KNN) — Sheriff’s homicide investigators have gathered at the 15300 block of Goodhue Street to investigate the circumstances of a stabbing death in a quiet neighborhood of unincorporated East Whittier Tuesday afternoon.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s Norwalk deputies were called to the area around 3 p.m. in regards to a neighbor who was doing a welfare check on the victim when they discovered him brutally stabbed to death on the kitchen floor.

Los Angeles County Fire paramedics responded to the scene and determined the victim deceased inside the residence.

Neighbors off camera stated the victim was a Vietnam veteran.

LASD deputies also reported that the victim’s RAV4 was stolen from the location, however, deputies could not provide information on an assailant at this time.

Homicide Lt. Patricia Thomas gave Key News Network a brief preliminary of the incident.
