WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES, Jan. 17 (KNN) — A woman’s beloved pet was fatally shot when two suspects approached the victim late Wednesday night in the Westlake District.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Division patrol units responded to the 2200 block of Beverly Boulevard near Lake Street for an “assault with a deadly weapon” call at 11:19 p.m. after a woman reported someone had shot her dog.
Two suspects described as Hispanic males, approached the woman walking her dog when one of the suspects shot at the dog.
The suspects fled on foot prior to the arrival of officers. Officer Im with the LAPD’s Media Relations Division said the suspects are still outstanding.
The dog was pronounced deceased at the scene and recovered by LA City Animal Services.
Details regarding exactly what transpired remain unclear.
