WESTMONT, Calif., Oct. 13 (KNN) — Two men were shot, one fatally, Saturday evening in the unincorporated community of Westmont within the South Los Angeles area.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the shooting occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. in the 9400 block of South Normandie Avenue.
Deputies from the South Los Angeles Station responded to the location for a call regarding a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, they found two Black males suffering from gunshot wounds to their upper torsos.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded and transported the two men to a local hospital. One was pronounced deceased, and the other was listed in stable condition, according to a statement released by the LASD Homicide Bureau.
No suspects are outstanding, and the weapon(s) believed to be used were recovered at the scene, according to the LASD.
