Driver Arrested for DUI After Fatally Striking Pedestrian

North Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA: A driver was arrested for DUI at the scene of a fatal collision involving a pedestrian early Wednesday morning, Feb. 22, in the North Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles within the San Fernando Valley.

Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles City firefighters responded to the reported traffic collision just before 1:30 a.m. on the 10900 block of Riverside Drive where arriving firefighters found the pedestrian in a condition beyond medical help.

Los Angeles Police Department officers arrived and began investigating the driver who remained on the scene after fatally striking the victim.

Following a field sobriety test, the female driver was taken into police custody.

LAPD Valley Traffic Division is investigating the incident.

Riverside Drive was closed in both directions at Vineland Avenue during the investigation.
