SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Sept. 16 (KNN) — Two people were rescued after a vehicle plunged off a Santa Clarita roadway and landed far below on the ejected diver. Two sheriff’s deputies worked with the vehicle’s passenger and a homeless man to lift the car off the driver, according to a deputy at the scene.
The incident occurred about 12:25 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Via Princessa and Whites Canyon Road. A white sedan left the roadway and broke through a guardrail before traveling 100 feet off the end of Via Princessa and landing on an embankment.
Firefighters and EMTs worked to bring two people up the steep hillside. The driver was brought up via a litter basket and rushed to a trauma center in unknown condition.
The crash is under investigation by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
