Driver Fatally Injured in Solo-Vehicle Crash in Pomona

POMONA, June 9 (KNN) — A driver was fatally injured in a single-vehicle crash in the city of Pomona early Sunday morning.

Pomona police officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a traffic collision shortly after 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of South Reservoir and Philadelphia streets.

Upon arrival, officers and firefighters located a single vehicle that had lost control and landed up against a pole. The injured driver was found still inside the vehicle.

The driver was transported by the LACoFD to a local area hospital where the patient succumbed from their injuries, according to the Pomona PD.

The Pomona Police Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and is conducting their investigation, stated the department in a press release of the incident. The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification to family.

Pomona PD had traffic diverted away from the scene for an unknown duration.
