Driver Flees Fiery Crash on Sunset Boulevard; 1 Dead, 3 Hospitalized Including Located Driver

West Hollywood, Los Angeles County, CA: One person was killed and a total of three hospitalized after a fiery crash early Monday morning where the driver fled the scene and was located at a hospital.

The traffic collision occurred around 2:30 a.m., Apr. 3, on the 8200 block of West Sunset Boulevard near Roxbury, just past Marmont Lane in the city of West Hollywood at the border of Hollywood.

A Tesla X ran off the roadway, striking a lamp post and tree outside the Pink Taco restaurant. The vehicle then erupted into flames.

The driver fled the scene and was picked up by a vehicle that was believed to be following the Tesla X, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

LAPD reported that one female passenger in the front seat died at the scene, and two female adult passengers in the back seat were transported by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital. One patient was reported to be in stable condition, the other in critical condition.

The driver was located at a local hospital by investigators and was positively identified as the driver who fled the scene of the crash, according to LAPD.

The driver is in critical condition and unable to be interviewed by investigators, reported LAPD.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station deputies also responded to the scene.

Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
