Driver Killed in Crash Into Excavator at Construction Site in Harbor City

HARBOR CITY, LOS ANGELES, Dec. 27 (KNN) — A vehicle slammed into an excavator at a construction site in Harbor City, leaving the fatally injured driver trapped in the wreckage late Thursday night.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel and police officers responded to a reported traffic collision in the 1200 block of West Anaheim Street shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find a vehicle had left the roadway and struck an excavator at a nearby construction site.

Crews stated the driver was trapped inside the car unconscious and was ultimately declared deceased at the scene.

LAFD paramedics transported one additional patient to a local hospital.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
