Exposition Park, Los Angeles, CA: Two people lost their lives in a traffic collision involving two vehicles that came to rest into multiple parked cars early Sunday morning.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a reported traffic collision just after 12:30 a.m., May 21, on the 3900 block of South Normandie Avenue in the Exposition Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Arriving firefighters quickly moved into action to attempt to save two people trapped inside a white sedan in front of a crowd of onlookers. The Jaws of Life was utilized to pull at least one vehicle door away to access trapped patients in the passenger and driver seats.
Despite rescue efforts, the patients were pronounce deceased at the scene by firefighters. A sheet was draped over the vehicle until the arrival of personnel from the coroner’s office.
LAFD reported no other injuries. No further details were immediately available.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division is investigating the fatal crash.
