Renton, WA: Two vehicles crashed head-on Tuesday afternoon in the city of Renton, leaving the driver of one of the vehicles hospitalized.

Multiple 911 calls were received for the head-on traffic collision around 2:59 p.m. Aug. 16, with reported speeds of 50 mph at the 3300 block of Maple Valley Highway. Initial callers also stated the driver of the pickup truck was partially ejected from the vehicle but bystanders reportedly were not willing to render aid.
Upon arrival of the Renton Fire Department and Renton Police Department, it was determined that the driver of the pickup was still alive and the occupant of the car was not showing signs of injury.
The driver of the pickup began receiving CPR and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. The road was closed for hours afterwards for an investigation of what caused the accident.
