Driver Trapped in Wrecked Sedan After Slamming Into Box Truck in Compton

COMPTON, Calif., Nov. 23 (KNN) — First responders worked to extricate a driver trapped inside a wrecked sedan after rear-ending a box truck in the city of Compton overnight.

The Compton City Fire Department and allied agencies responded to reports of a traffic collision around 12:20 a.m. with persons trapped in the 2100 block of North Wilmington Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene, they located an Infinity coupe wedged under the backside of a box truck with the driver pinned inside.

Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) responded to the scene and assisted with the extrication of the driver as crews ripped apart the car to gain access to the patient.

The driver was transported via ambulance to the hospital in unknown condition.

There were no further details at the time of this report.
