Family of 13 Escapes House Fire in Quartz Hill

QUARTZ HILL, Calif., Mar. 21 (KNN) — A large family managed to escape a house fire overnight that also consumed a vehicle parked in the driveway.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a single-family, two-story home occupied by 13 residents for a call of service just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the 43100 block of Hampton Street in Quartz Hill, just west of Lancaster.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a home engulfed in flames along with a vehicle and attached garage.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze. All occupants of the home were able to escape without injury.

The extent of the damage is currently unknown as well as the cause of the fire which is under investigation.
