The fire was reported around 8:19 p.m. running uphill fast. A KNN video journalist was at the location of an apartment complex threatened by the close proximity of flames.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrived before the fire department and started advising tenants to grab their things and start to evacuate. The fire had been upgraded to second alarm status.

Tenants fearful of the flames reaching their units, were using their water hoses to drench the hillside, as seen in KNN video from the complex location.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and contained the flames at five acres as reported at approximately 9 p.m. Forward progress was stopped, according to the department.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation.
