Fatal Crash Involves 2 Vehicles on 101 Freeway

Studio City, Los Angeles, CA: One person died at the scene of a freeway traffic collision involving two vehicles in the Studio City area of Los Angeles early Sunday morning, Feb. 26.

California Highway Patrol West Valley officers responded to a 2:40 a.m. call of a two-vehicle traffic collision on the northbound 101 Freeway at Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

When officers arrived on scene, they located both vehicles as well as a victim down in the roadway with CPR in progress by a paramedic.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

It is unknown at this time if the victim was struck by another vehicle after exiting the vehicle or was ejected during the collision, according to Sgt. Jon Relles, with CHP West Valley area office at the scene speaking with Key News Network.

The second vehicle involved appears to have struck the first vehicle in the initial solo collision involving the center divider and guardrail.
