Fatally Shot Victim Located Near Vehicle with Bullet and Collision Damage

Panorama City, Los Angeles, CA: A victim was found fatally shot lying on a street within the area of a vehicle with bullet holes in the Panorama City neighborhood of Los Angeles early Tuesday morning, May 31, 2022.

Los Angeles Police Department Mission area officers responded to a call of an ambulance shooting around 2:40 a.m. in the 8600 block of Willis Avenue and found a victim lying on the street next to the curb, according to the Los Angeles Police Department in a news release of the incident.

LAPD said there was an abandoned vehicle with “bullet impacts” that was involved in a traffic collision and left parked on the west sidewalk just south of where the victim was located. It appears the vehicle was involved in the shooting.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

Detectives canvassing the the area for additional evidences, cameras and possible witnesses, learned that the victim approached the suspect’s vehicle and a shooting occurred, according to LAPD. There was ballistic evidence identified and it was recovered at the scene.

The victim’s identification is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin. There is currently no suspect information.
