Fatal Traffic Collision Involving Pedestrian Impacts 605 Freeway in Whittier

WHITTIER, Calif., Jan. 21 (KNN) — The California Highway Patrol Santa Fe Springs Area office is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on the 605 Freeway in the city of Whittier early Tuesday morning.

According to the CHP, a pedestrian was struck and killed by multiple vehicles on the southbound 605 Freeway just before Whittier Boulevard at approximately 2:29 a.m.

A semi observed on the off-ramp of Whittier Boulevard was possibly one of the vehicles that struck the pedestrian.

At this time, it is unknown why the pedestrian was on the southbound 605 Freeway. CHP had only the two right lanes open for traffic.

A Sig Alert was issued for an unknown duration.
