The shooting of a single victim occurred around 12:20 a.m. on the 6th Street Bridge above Anderson Street, according to Officer Drake Madison with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division.

The LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division patrol units responded to an “ambulance shooting” call (ambulance requested for a shooting incident) with a victim down in the middle of the bridge.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Officer Madison.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter/paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital in stable condition, reported the LAPD.

Initial reports went out as an active shooter on the bridge with two victims down, however, those reports turned out to be unfounded.

The suspects fled in a silver sedan east on Whittier Boulevard.

There is no suspect description. The incident is gang related, according to the LAPD.
