A 911 call at approximately 6 p.m. alerted the California Highway Patrol to an argument that had occurred on a Foothill Transit bus as it was traveling westbound on the 10 Freeway in the city of Baldwin Park.

An argument between two male passengers on the bus resulted in multiple gunshots being fired by one of the men, leaving an innocent female passenger in her 50s injured, according to CHP Lieutenant Saul Gomez. She was transported to a local hospital with an injury that was not life-threatening.

The incident happened as the bus was coming to a stop on the Puente Avenue off-ramp. Immediately afterwards, the suspect exited the bus and fled the scene, according to Gomez. It was a stop the bus normally makes.

Gomez said there was no indication that the two men knew each other. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s.

CHP is continuing their investigation into the shooting.
