VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES, June 17 (KNN) — Firefighters extinguished the flames inside a single-family home in Van Nuys early Monday morning.
The Los Angeles Fire Department received a call of a structure fire around 1:43 a.m. in the 6700 block of Blucher Avenue. Upon arrival, fire crews found a home with black smoke and flames coming from the roof and rear of the home.
A well coordinated fire attack by 32 firefighters at the scene using vertical (rooftop) ventilation resulted in the flames being extinguished in 24 minutes, reported the LAFD.
Two residents were observed standing outside the home. It is unknown at this time if there were any other occupants inside the home at the time of the fire.
No injuries to firefighters or residents of the home were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
