SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Apr. 15 (KNN) — A fire consumed a home in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood within South Los Angeles late Sunday night leaving multiple residents displaced.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 11:25 p.m. on the 500 block of West 77th Street.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a 1,400 square foot one-story home with fire showing in the front with exposure to the rear.
Firefighters saved two uninjured dogs from the fire, which was fueled by excessive personal storage within the structure, reported the LAFD. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
At least three residents were displaced by the fire and are receiving temporary placement assistance and recovery guidance from the American Red Cross, and personal necessities support from the California Fire Foundation SAVE Program, according to the LAFD.
