Fire Consumes Tire Shop Previously Burned in South Los Angeles

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Dec. 12 (KNN) — A tire shop that had previously burned was found engulfed in flames early Thursday morning.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a structure fire shortly after 3 a.m. on the 6900 block of Vermont Avenue in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood within South Los Angeles.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a one-story commercial tire shop involved in flames. Firefighters battled the fire in defensive mode.

The fire exposed a building adjacent to the tire shop.

According to LAFD Spokesperson Magaret Stewart, the first arriving 28 firefighters extinguished the fire in 21 minutes with no injuries reported.

LAFD Arson investigators were requested due to a previous burn at the location.
