Firefighters Battle Flames as Heavy Black Smoke Engulfs Lancaster Home

LANCASTER, Calif., Jan. 8 (KNN) — Numerous engines and water tenders from multiple stations responded to the 47800 block of 40th Street West in Lancaster for a reported structure fire at 9:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, it was reported by Station 33 that heavy smoke and fire was showing from the back side of a structure. Black smoke was captured on video at the scene pouring out from the windows and attic area of an apparent home.

The fire was extinguished shortly after arrival. Primary and secondary searches of the structure did not reveal any occupants.

Circumstances surrounding the fire are currently under investigation. No further details are available at this time.
