DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Sept. 27 (KNN) — Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department battled a Greater Alarm structure fire early Friday morning in Downtown Los Angeles.
LAFD crews were dispatched shortly after 2 a.m. to the 1100 block of South Maple Street, where fire was present in a 50-foot by 150-foot unit in a one-story commercial building.
The LAFD said crews forced entry into the unit and extended hose lines inside while others ascended ladders to the roof to cut holes to provide vertical ventilation.
According to the LAFD, it took 98 firefighters 33 minutes to extinguish the flames.
There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
