Firefighters Battle Greater Alarm Structure Fire in Exposition Park

EXPOSITION PARK, LOS ANGELES, Oct. 2 (KNN) — Firefighters attacked a Greater Alarm fire early Monday morning that involved two buildings in the Exposition Park neighborhood within Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire shortly before 3 a.m. in the 3700 block of South Western Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, they located a fully-engulfed commercial building with flames through the roof. The fire extended to the attic of an adjacent church, reported the LAFD.

Crews attacked the fire in well-coordinated offensive firefighting operations and had fully extinguished the flames in just 25 minutes with 97 LAFD firefighters at the scene, according to the LAFD.

The cause is unknown at this time and under investigation. There were no reported injuries.
