MONTEBELLO, Calif., Aug. 8 (KNN) — Firefighters were out in force early Thursday morning battling a third alarm commercial structure fire in the city of Montebello.
Montebello Fire Department crews along with multiple agencies assisted on a large commercial building fire at 860 Truck Way shortly after 1 a.m.
Firefighters battled the blaze in defensive mode due to wires down. According to Montebello Fire Department information gathered at the scene, multiple wires were down and hazardous materials were inside the building.
Kevin, who lives about two blocks away, told KNN at the scene on camera that he happened to be on the porch when he saw massive smoke coming up and began seeing an orange color indicating fire. He then walked over to the location and saw the burning building. Kevin has lived in the area for over a decade and said he has never seen massive flames like this in the neighborhood.
It is not known at this time how long it took firefighters to extinguish the blaze. KNN has reached out to the Montebello Fire Department for additional information.
