Firefighters Contain Chatsworth Brush Fire at 10 Acres

Chatsworth, Los Angeles, CA: Firefighters responded to reports of a brush fire approximately one acre in size in light to medium brush with light wind, at around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, in the Chatsworth neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The fire was burning uphill north of the 118 Freeway. Los Angeles County, Los Angeles City and Ventura County firefighters were all battling the brush fire from air and ground. As of 3:20 p.m., the fire had burned seven acres.

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the fire 100% contained at 4:18 p.m. with an estimated 10 acre fire area. Air rescue was released, but ground crews remained to continue the mop up operation and to ensure no hot spots remain.

There was no potential threat to structures. No injuries were reported.
