GLENDORA, Calif., Sept. 16 (KNN) — Firefighters discovered an apparent crime scene, deceased dogs, and initially one person after extinguishing flames in a Glendora home early Monday morning.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department and Glendora police officers responded to a structure fire in the 700 block of Danecroft Avenue in Glendora shortly before 2:30 a.m.
Once firefighters and officers arrived, they located a one-story structure with heavy smoke and fire from the rear bedroom. Once inside the house, they found blood. Firefighters also discovered one victim in a back bedroom, along with two deceased dogs.
Firefighters and paramedics managed to pull the victim out of the house and pronounced the person deceased at the scene.
Glendora PD took over the scene to investigate. LACoFD had an arson team en route to assist. According to an update later Monday, coroners and homicide investigators located a female, the second victim inside the residence.
California Edison and the Gas Company arrived at the scene but could not access the house because police had established a crime scene.
The fire was knocked down within 30 to 45 minutes of receiving the call.
It is unknown at this time how the fire started.
