Firefighters Douse Flames at Shakey’s Pizza in Pico Rivera

PICO RIVERA, Calif., Mar. 7 (KNN) — A fire at Shakey’s Pizza overnight prompted a response from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The fire department along with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a commercial building fire around 2 a.m. at Shakey’s Pizza restaurant on the 9200 block of East Whittier Boulevard in Pico Rivera.

Once firefighters arrived at the scene, they located the restaurant with heavy smoke and fire showing from the roof. The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire.

The LACoFD had requested the Department of Building and Safety to respond to the location for possible structural damage.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
