Firefighters Douse Flames in Smoked-Filled Vacant Church in North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES, Jan. 10 (KNN) — The Los Angeles Fire Department quickly extinguished a fire in an abandoned church in North Hollywood overnight.

The LAFD responded to a reported structure fire just before 2:30 a.m. on the 7000 block of North Radford Avenue. When crews arrived at the location, they found a vacant one-story church with heavy smoke showing.

Firefighters found the source and knocked down the flames in less than 20 minutes with 35 firefighters on the scene, according to the LAFD.

No injuries were reported. The LAFD is investigating the cause of fire.
