SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Dec. 11 (KNN) — A small, wind-driven brush fire broke out late Tuesday night on the southbound 110 Freeway, just north of the 105 Freeway in the Vermont Vista area of South Los Angeles, prompting a response from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) and California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP closed the transition road as firefighters worked to contain the blaze, which was fanned by strong winds in the area. The fire extended a few hundred feet down the side of the freeway before LAFD crews achieved knockdown at approximately 10:30 p.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries or property damage were reported.
