Firefighters Extinguish Flames at Recycling Plant in Fontana

Fontana, San Bernardino County, CA: Firefighters achieved knockdown on flames at a recycling plant early Friday morning.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department received multiple calls from the 10800 block of Etiwanda Avenue in Fontana just after midnight, May 26, regarding a recycling warehouse with heavy smoke showing and fire to the rear of the commercial building.

Once firefighters arrived on scene, they located a large recycling plant with recyclables on fire to the rear of the structure.

Firefighters were able to achieve knockdown within an hour to an hour and a half of the call.

It is unknown at this time how the fire started and whether or not the business was open, or if any employees were there at the scene.
