Firefighters Locate Body After Dousing Bungalow Fire, Death Deemed Suspicious

Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA: Firefighters located a deceased person after dousing a fire in a bungalow in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles Monday night.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were on the scene of a reported structure fire on the 6000 block of West Fountain Avenue around 9:48 p.m., Dec. 5.

Firefighters found light smoke showing from a small one-story bungalow at the location, the department reported. An offensive fire attack was initiated on the fire discovered in one room.

The fire was quickly extinguished just after 10:00 p.m. and a search of the building was conducted subsequently leading firefighters to the discovery of a deceased person.

According to LAFD, “The preliminary investigation indicates a potential suspicious death prior to the fire.”

A full investigation is underway by LAFD Arson and the Los Angeles Police Department.

Pets, possibly belonging to the deceased, were seen gently loaded into what appeared to be a Los Angeles Animal Services van.

There are no further details at this time.
