ECHO PARK, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 26 (KNN) — Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to an initial call of a drowning in Echo Park Lake late Wednesday evening.
Upon arrival at the 1100 block of Echo Park Avenue in the Echo Park neighborhood, firefighters determined the incident was not a drowning but a swimmer needing assistance out of the water, according to Nicholas Prange, a spokesperson for the LAFD.
It was not immediately clear why the swimmer needed assistance, but firefighters rescued the swimmer from the lake and transported the man to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.
There are no further details.
