Firefighters Rescue Victim of Alleged Attack From MacArthur Park Lake

WESTLAKE, LOS ANGELES, July 12 (KNN) — A female was found in the lake at MacArthur Park in need of rescue after an alleged attack by an individual early Wednesday morning.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and police officers responded to MacArthur Park in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles shortly before 5 a.m. for reports of a female in the lake claiming she had been pepper sprayed by an unknown assailant.

When first responders arrived on scene, they located the female in the water next to the fountain in the lake.

LAFD firefighters deployed a rescue boat to extract the female from the water.

The rescue took approximately 30 minutes to complete.

The female was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
