Flames Consume House in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA, Sept. 1 (KNN) — The Bakersfield Fire Department responded to a structure fully engulfed in flames shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday on the 1200 block of Mc Kee Road in South Bakersfield with possibly two people trapped inside.

Upon arrival, firefighters quickly contained the fire and reported no one was inside the residence.

The California Highway Patrol was also on scene assisting with traffic control in the area of the incident.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
