POMONA, Calif., Jan. 22 (KNN) — A collision involving a speeding vehicle and a stopped Foothill Transit bus resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries at the intersection of West Monterey Avenue and North Garey Avenue on Tuesday night, authorities said.
The vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the rear of the bus, which was stopped at a red light en route to the Foothill Transit Center. Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed five patients in total, including one person who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Five passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The identities of those involved have not been released.
