High-Speed Crash Into Power Pole in Santa Clarita Severs Water Line, Injures Driver

SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Jan. 28 (KNN) — A sedan traveling at a high rate of speed violently severed a power pole, bringing down a transformer and severing a water line in the Newhall area of the city of Santa Clarita.

The crash occurred in the 24300 block of Railroad Avenue, north of Market Street, shortly after 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Witnesses at the scene said a Cadillac CTS was traveling at a high rate of speed before it slammed into the power pole.

Water gushed out of a building next to the power pole, flooding the crash location.

The driver was rushed to a trauma center in unknown condition.

The crash remains under investigation by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
