CYPRESS PARK, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 19 (KNN) — A driver fled the scene of a crash that damaged a building and sheared a hydrant in Cypress Park early Friday morning.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash at 1:47 a.m. at the intersection of North Marmion Way and North Figueroa Street.
When crews arrived on scene, they located a sedan that had sheared a fire hydrant and was wedged between a traffic signal pole and structure. The structure sustained damage from the impact and the driver was nowhere to be found.
The water flow from the broken hydrant was shut off by firefighters in just a few minutes.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast Division is handling the investigation.
