Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA: An upstairs unit in a two-story apartment building burned in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles Wednesday morning, Jan. 25, sending three to the hospital in varying conditions.

The fire was reported on the 1800 block of North Van Ness Avenue at 12:52 a.m. involving a unit on the second floor of the building.

Two females were taken to a local area hospital suffering from smoke inhalation. A third victim in critical condition was also transported to a hospital by responding Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. That victim’s current condition is unknown.

Knockdown was achieved in approximately 20 minutes.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
