Hollywood Hills Homeowner Shoots Home Invasion Suspect

HOLLYWOOD HILLS, LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16 (KNN) — An attempted robbery of a home in the Hollywood Hills was thwarted Sunday night when an armed homeowner shot the invading suspect.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division officers responded to a residence around 9:30 p.m. on the 3000 block Hollyridge Drive for reports of yelling with shots fired.

While officers were en route, they were informed that a homeowner had shot an attempted home invasion suspect who had entered the residence.

Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect with an unknown number of gunshot sounds.

The female homeowner had shot the suspect with a shotgun after arming herself.

The suspect was transported in unknown condition to the hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter/paramedics.

Neighbors stated off camera that the homeowner was victim to previous home invasion attempts in the past.

There are no further details at this time.
