In front of a crowd of dignitaries, elected officials and TV news cameras, directors from Bridge to Home, the local nonprofit tasked with providing a roof over the head of the unhoused, showed the public the construction site and the progress made to complete a multi-million dollar facility.

Despite the millions of dollars poured into abating Los Angeles County’s rapidly expanding homeless issue, 5th District Supervisor Kathryn Barger admitted the number of people without a home has dramatically increased.

Those present signed a metal beam shortly before it was installed in the building’s frame on the 23000 block of Drayton Street.

Santa Clarita currently does not have a permanent homeless shelter.
