Homicide Investigation Underway in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Jan. 6 (KNN) — A homicide investigation is underway following the death of an unknown individual in downtown Bakersfield early Sunday. The incident occurred near 19th and K Streets, with emergency crews responding to the scene at 1:34 a.m.

According to an individual at the scene, the victim was attacked by multiple individuals for an unknown reason and was left unconscious. CPR was performed by Bakersfield Fire Department medical personnel, but the victim was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

A crime scene was established, and the Bakersfield Police Department is conducting an investigation.

Sgt. Eric Celedon, a spokesperson for the Bakersfield PD, told Key News Network that the victim was a 46-year-old male. No other information was available at this time during the ongoing investigation.
