Horses Rescued as Blaze Consumes Pallet Yard, Multiple Semi Trailers

ONTARIO, CA, Aug. 24 (KNN) — A blazing pallet yard fire early Friday morning prompted the fire department to request additional resources and the evacuation of animals from the burning area.

Ontario Police Department officers and the Ontario Fire Department responded to an outdoor fire around 1:14 a.m. on the 13100 block of South Campus Avenue in the city of Ontario.

Once firefighters arrived on scene, they located a large pallet yard fire with a burning semi truck and promptly upgraded the incident to a commercial fire, requesting additional resources.

Owners arrived and started to evacuate horses and animals from the property. Some horses were rescued and some were moved to a different location away from the heat.

There were multiple explosions heard to the rear of the pallet yard.

Flames consumed multiple semi trailers that were near the area of the burning pallet yard.

Firefighters battled the flames into the night. The time of knockdown is currently unknown.
