Judge Arrested for Murder After Shooting Wife in Anaheim Hills Home

ANAHEIM, CA, Aug. 4 (KNN) — The Anaheim Police Department’s Homicide detectives on Friday announced the arrest of Jeffrey Ferguson, 72, for the murder of his wife.

Anaheim police officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at a residence on the 8500 block of East Canyon Vista Drive in Anaheim Hills.

Upon arrival, officers located 65-year-old Sheryl Ferguson inside the residence suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to the Anaheim Police Department’s press release of the incident. Sheryl Ferguson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“Officers contacted Jeffrey Ferguson, an Orange County Superior Court Judge, at the location and arrested him for murder without incident,” the police department reported.

“Jeffrey Ferguson was booked into the Anaheim Police Department’s Detention Facility in lieu of $1 million bail,” stated the press release.

There are no additional details at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
