Juvenile Killed,1 Wounded in La Habra Parking Lot Shooting

LA HABRA, CA, July 7 (KNN) — A male juvenile is dead and one adult was wounded in a parking lot shooting Friday night in La Habra.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and La Habra police officers responded to the 1300 block of South Beach Boulevard at approximately 8:35 p.m. after several 911 calls were received reporting a shooting, according to authorities.

Arriving firefighters and officers located one victim down unresponsive next to a vehicle and one male adult, both with gunshot wounds.

Life-saving efforts were made by responding officers and firefighters, however, the male juvenile succumbed to his injury, reported La Habra PD in a press release.

County paramedics transported the adult male to UCI Hospital, however, the condition of the male adult was not indicated in the press release.

A major portion of the parking lot was cordoned off by police and detectives. Details as to what led to the shooting remain unclear.

La Habra PD stated this is an ongoing investigation and there is no immediate risk to the community at this time.
