Alleged Knife Wielding Pursuit Suspect in Custody

Montebello, Los Angeles County, CA: A suspect allegedly armed with a knife led deputies on a chase from East Los Angeles into the city of Montebello where successful attempts to slow the vehicle brought the pursuit to an end late Wednesday night, Dec. 21.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s East Los Angeles Station deputies were in pursuit of a suspect who was allegedly armed with a knife and making threats.

The suspect led deputies on a 30 to 45 minute pursuit into the city of Montebello. Sheriff’s deputies set up multiple spike strips along the pursuit path.

The suspect’s vehicle struck the spike strips, deflating all four tires.

The suspect came to a stop on North Wilcox Avenue just north of the 60 Freeway.

Sheriff’s deputies made an approach toward the vehicle and were able to take the suspect from the vehicle and into custody.
