LANCASTER, CA, Oct. 22 (KNN) — A two-vehicle traffic collision overnight left two victims trapped in critical condition inside an overturned vehicle and one driver at the scene was detained by authorities.
Personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the intersection of Avenue L9 and Sierra Highway in the city of Lancaster around 12 a.m. Sunday for a reported traffic collision with persons trapped.
Upon arrival, firefighters and paramedics located two victims trapped inside an overturned vehicle in the northbound lane of Sierra Highway.
The first patient was extricated from the vehicle and immediately transported to a local area hospital in critical condition.
The second trapped patient was extricated and lifesaving techniques were administered by paramedics on scene. He was then later transported also in critical condition.
The female driver of the vehicle that allegedly caused the collision, was transported to a local area hospital but was detained by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and escorted in the ambulance. Her condition was not immediately known.
The cause of the traffic collision is currently under investigation with no additional details at this time.
