The calls included reports of dozens of vandals tagging a structure as well as smashing windows at the construction site of a retail and luxury housing development on the Flower and 12th Street side of the complex that encompasses the entire block across from the Crypto.com Arena.

Around midnight, LAPD also received calls of a shooting inside one of the buildings. Security for the development located several shell casings inside. There was no victim located and LAPD officers were in the process of clearing the area at the time of this report.

There are a total of three buildings within Oceanwide Plaza that were slated to contain stores, a hotel, luxury apartments and condominiums until the developer defaulted in 2019, according to multiple sources. The development spans the entire block of Figueroa, Flower, 11th and 12th streets.

The complex has been a magnet for taggers in particular, over the last several days.

This report will be updated if further information becomes available.
