Large Tree Falls, Takes Down Power Lines on Street in Glendale

GLENDALE, Calif., Jan. 9 (KNN) — A large tree fell overnight taking down power lines that sparked a small fire in the 2100 block of East Chevy Chase Drive in the city of Glendale.

The tree fell across power lines which led from the pole to a house. A small fire was started by the downed power line, but was extinguished by the Glendale Fire Department within ten minutes.

Glendale Police Department officers responded and closed traffic in both directions while crews waited for the Department of Water and Power to arrive.

Two vehicles were in the path of the fallen tree and were slightly damaged. The home appeared to be undamaged.
