Los Angeles Firefighters Douse Flames in Smoke-Filled Commercial Building

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, Sept. 30 (KNN) — The Los Angeles Fire Department extinguished a fire in a Downtown Los Angeles smoke-filled commercial building early Monday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire shortly after 3 a.m. in the 900 block of East 12th Street in Downtown Los Angeles.

Arriving crews found a 200-foot by 100-foot commercial building with visible smoke. Additional resources responded as firefighters began to fight the fire in offensive mode.

The LAFD reported a knockdown in 49 minutes, with 66 firefighters at the scene. No injuries were reported.

According to the LAFD, the fire was on the first floor, and crews prevented it from extending to the second floor or the adjacent structures.

The cause is not known at this time.
